Advice in care and rehabilitation
When they return home following rehabilitation in the case of paraplegia, the patient embarks upon a new phase of their life towards which they have worked for a long time. This transition is complex and presents the people affected with great challenges.
ParaHelp helps patients and their families in this situation and, offering advice following inpatient care, plays an important role in the overall rehabilitation. The aim is to provide the people affected with quick and comprehensive support as and when required in their situation. Apart from avoiding complications, one of the central concerns is to maintain the greatest possible independence and self-determination, supporting and encouraging the effectiveness of the rehabilitation.

What we do
Quick and comprehensive advice on-site on themes such as:
- decubitus, positioning, mobilisation
- bladder and bowel management
- aid provision, adaptation, advice about mattresses
- coordination of nursing and help offers
- referral to specialists
- support and respite for relatives
- finding out about holiday opportunities
- determining a location from a nursing perspective and in general
- assessment of nursing requirements
- mediation in conflict situations
- independence training for children and teenagers in wheelchairs
- training and instruction on key aspects of nursing care for spinal cord injury patients
- conducting further training events for specialists
- support and instruction in relocating ventilated patients
- case management in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
- managing the nursing aspects of the SPA tetraplegic respite holidays
ParaHelp does its work in the community nursing environment throughout Switzerland.
